CLOTHING


A sash consists of a cloth Belt used to hold a Robe together, and usually tied about the waist. The Japanese equivalent of a sash, called an '' Obi '', serves to hold a Kimono or Yukata together. Sashes traditionally form part of formal military attire (compare the sword-belt known as a Baldric ). Some decorations such as the Legion D'honneur involve wearing a special sash. In South and Latin America a special Presidential Sash indicates a President 's authority. Decorative sashes may pass from the shoulder to the hip rather than around the waist. In Italy, a sash, featuring the Italian flag colors, is used by public authorities and local officals.


COMPUTING


Many Unix-like Operating System s feature a Statically Linked Shell called sash which includes many built-in system commands. After a System Failure , a systems administrator can use sash during recovery without the need to have important Libraries in place.
