The lira (plural ''lire'') was the currency of the Kingdom Of Sardinia until 1861 . It was subdivided into 20 ''soldi'' (singular ''soldo''), each or 12 ''denari'' (singular ''denaro''), until 1816 , when the currency was pegged to the French Franc and decimalized to consist of 100 ''centesimi'' (singular ''centesimo ''). It was replaced at par by the Italian Lira . |
