Santa Cruz del Norte is a municipality and town in La Habana Province , Cuba , located between the cities of Havana and Matanzas , at the mouth of the Santa Cruz River. The municipality has an area of 131 km² and contains the communities of Boca De Jaruco , Brisas del Mar, Central Hershey, Guanabo , Jibacoa and the town of Santa Cruz del Norte. The town was founded in 1800 , being a Fisher community at that time, and achieved municipality status in 1933 . This is the main home of the Havana Club Rum distillery; all dark varieries being produced in Santa Cruz del Norte. The Distillery can be visited as part of a tour. EXTERNAL LINKS |
