Santa Agnese Fuori le Mura (''Saint Agnes Outside the Walls'') is a Roman - Byzantine style Church which was built over the Catacomb Grave of Saint Agnes , who was Martyr ed at a stadium of Roman emperor Domitian . Although the church has been the subject of multiple renovation efforts through the centuries, the Mosaic in the Apse of the building — which dates back to 625 AD — still remains.
