San Juan del Obispo is a small village (''pueblo'') in Guatemala , close to the border with Antigua , in the Sacatepeqez area. Famous for holding one of the first Catholic churches in Guatemala, and the first bishop of Guatemala resided in San Juan Del Obispo (hence the name). Jonas Bakkevig , Soeren Halkier, Maria Marthinussen and Kiersten Vance are some of the volunteers who have lived and worked voluntarily here for some time, providing education and a safe environment for children from poor homes in the areas surrounding the volcano side. |
