HISTORY The San Juan Bautista School of Medicine was first approved by the Government Of Puerto Rico in 1978 , and has been approved by the Puerto Rican Board Of Medical Examiners for Licensure from its first graduating class in 1979 . Subsequently, the school was accredited by the Central States Association Of Colleges And Schools , the Middle States Commission On Higher Education , and the Accreditation Council For Graduate Medical Education . The school is recognized by the United States Department Of Education for U.S. sponsored Student Loan s. For many years, the school has considered seeking recognition by the American Medical Association and the Liaison Committee On Medical Education .
