Salt keys are a collectible, but rare find for beachcombers - similar to beach glass, these keys have been worn down by exposure to the elements. There is a small number of semi-professional beachcombers who specialize in the collection of Salt keys. There are not many collectors of Salt keys in the United States but there is a considerable number in France. Sought after salt keys include those in in gold, silver, or pinchbeck, cut, chased, set with stones more or less precious and quaintly formed, are quite interesting. |
