Sala Palatului ("the Palace Hall") in Bucharest , Romania is a conference hall immediately behind the National Museum Of Art Of Romania , the former royal palace in the heart of the city. It was built in 1959–1960, during the Communist Era . It has been the site of conferences such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the World Congress On Population , the World Congress On Energy , and the World Congress of the Red Cross . It is now also used as a general conference and convention center and as a concert venue. The main hall can hold 4,060 people. In addition to the main hall the entrance hall has a surface area of 2,000 m&2 and is used as an exhibition space; there also are eight small conference rooms for meetings of 20–30 persons.
