According to the Iranian Student News Agency, the Iranian Commerce Ministry called for changing the name, which was proposed in a letter to the ministry. The nominal change is similar to the U.S. House Of Representatives ' decision to rename "French fries" and "French toast" to " Freedom Fries " and "Freedom toast" in response to France 's opposition to the 2003 Invasion Of Iraq .
