Rodeo Drive (game Show)

THE MAIN GAME

Round 1

This round is reminiscent of "Talk About" . To start, a game board on a monitor behind the contestants was revealed. On the board is a list of 7 hidden words connected to a famous celebrity. On his/her turn, the contestant chooses a number from 1 through 7. The word is revealed to the home audience as well as his/her two opponents. After the word is revealed to the home audience and to the other two contestants, they get to secretly predict whether the describing contestant will say the word. Then the first contestant gets 15 seconds to talk about the celebrity. If the contestant says the chosen hidden word in the 15 seconds, the contestant wins the hidden amount associated with that word which is worth anywhere from 100-250 points according to the difficulty of the word being said. If not then the contestant instead gets 5 points for each of the remaining six words he/she did say. After the 15 second talk, play went back to the other players. If the prediction is correct, that contestant wins 50 points. If not, no points are scored. Play continues until all 3 contestants have described one celebrity & predicted twice.

Note: If two players are tied at the end of the round, a toss-up statement was read. The first player to buzz-in & answer correctly wins a point & the advantage in round 2 (more on that later). Otherwise the opponent automatically gets the point & the advantage.

Round 2

In this round, the contestants are seated from left to right in order of how they finished the first round. They're now given statements posed by host Duart, each one is either a fact or a rumor. Play starts with the player in the lead after round 1. He/she was given a statement & a correct answer earned that player 100 points. But an incorrect answer passes control of the round to the second place contestant. If that player misses, the third place player takes a turn, then back to player one if that player misses. The game lasts for approximately 7 minutes. When two bells ring, it's a two minute warning, and when more bells ring, the round & the game is over and the player in the lead wins the game, $500 cash and a chance to stroll down Rodeo Drive .

Before the bonus round, the winning player has an opportunity to increase the bank on Rodeo Drive by answering 5 questions. The contestant is given 2 celebrities and a statement. The statement is about either celebrity A, celebrity B, or both celebrities. Each correct answer adds $200 to the Rodeo Drive bank for a maximum of an additional $1,000.

THE RODEO DRIVE BONUS ROUND

The bonus round is reminiscent of the Gauntlet of Villains from '' Whew! ''. The object of the round is to pass four stores & the bank which starts at $1,000 plus whatever money earned in the five question round (the amount is carried over into the next if not won). On each store, the winning player's job identify a celebrity by overhearing a conversation about that celebrity. Each time a celebrity's been correctly identified, the contestant wins a prize in that store and the contestant moves to the next store stage right and listens to gossip about another celebrity. If the contestant identifies all 5 celebrities in 60 seconds or less, he/she wins all the prizes on Rodeo Drive plus the progressive bank. If he/she cannot do that when time runs out, the contestant does however choose one of the captured prizes he/she wishes to keep. Regardless of the outcome, the winning player returns next show to play another game.

NOTE

The show premiered on the same day as another Lifetime game show Supermarket Sweep .
