Robert 'Bob' Rebadow is a Fictional Character from the Television Series '' Oz '', a drama series on HBO that portrays a maximum security prison and follows the lives of the inmates in the prison. He is the oldest inmate on the show and a member of "The Others", the group in Oz which generally stays away from trouble, unlike the other groups in Oz. If Rebadow does cause trouble, it is likely because he was following someone else. Rebadow was scheduled to be executed when he was younger, but when he was sitting in the electric chair there was a power outage which saved his life. The execution was never rescheduled, and Rebadow continued living in Oz. Perhaps it was because of this incident that Rebadow claims God speaks to him. Whether Rebadow is actually speaking to God or he is just crazy is unknown, but almost mysteriously he knows almost everything that goes on in Oz. Rebadow becomes cell mates with Agamemnon Busmalis, and the two form a friendship, possibly because they are both much older than the typical Oz inmate. Busmalis is known for digging tunnels, and begins to dig in their cell. Later two Aryans find out about the tunnel and take the cell from Rebadow and Busmalis. The tunnel collapses and kills the two escaping Neo-Nazis because the supports by Bob and Agamemnon. In season 4 Rebadow is confronted by the new Latino inmate Moralis, and is told that he must murder Latino boss "El Cid". He tells Robert that he can have whatever he wants if he commits the deed. Moralis convinces the head of Em City to have Rebadow move in with El Cid, and in the middle of the night Rebadow murders El Cid. Later, Rebadow tells Moralis that what he wants in return is to have another chance to murder someone, but does not say who. Rebadow then attempts to murder his cell mate Busmalis because he was angry that Busmalis dug another tunnel and escaped for a short time with another inmate (they were soon caught and returned to Oz) and did not inform Rebadow because he felt his old age would slow him down. Rebadow failed in murdering him, and they rekindled their friendship. |
