This engine is free for non-commercial and commercial use and provides an easy and fast accessible interface for 3D realtime applications, games etc using DirectX . The project was started in 1998 by Simon Theophil and competed with the engine TrueVision3D . Revolution3D can be used with C++ , C# , Visual Basic and Java . There are already some finished freeware games like ''Acamar Rising'', ''Kuhtrix'', ''History Of Conquest'' and ''R3DChess''. In 2001 Microsoft developed a game called ''Donkey .NET'' using Revolution3D. This game was a programming example for the new .NET platform and Visual Basic .NET programming language.
