RTL design is the design of an RTL description of a system. The term is also used synonymously with "RTL description". RTL is used in the Logic Design phase of the IC Design cycle. RTL is usually written in Hardware Description Language such as Verilog or VHDL . Logic Simulator tools may verify the correctness of the design by simulating its functionality using its RTL description, among other things. Logic Synthesis tools may be used to automatically convert the RTL description of a Digital System into a Gate Level Description of the system. SEE ALSO |
