The Republic Of Ireland is split into eight regions for NUTS statistical purposes. These are not related to the four traditional Provinces but are based on the Administrative Counties . The split is as follows: # , Donegal , Leitrim , Louth , Monaghan , Sligo # , Mayo and Roscommon # , Longford , Offaly and Westmeath # , Meath and Wicklow # , and the counties of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown , Fingal and South Dublin # , Kilkenny , South Tipperary , Waterford and Wexford # and Kerry # , Limerick and North Tipperary This split should not be confused with the 4 Irish European Parliament Constituencies or the Health Boards , both of which are also based on multiples of the counties. In the case of the Health Boards, however, some regions are the same as above. EXTERNAL LINK |
