Regent College




Regent College is a Graduate school of Christian Studies , located next to the Campus of the University Of British Columbia in the University Endowment Lands , just outside the city limits of Vancouver , British Columbia . Regent was established in 1968 specifically to provide graduate Theological Education to the Laity ; prior to this, theological studies at the Seminary level were primarily reserved for prospective members of the Clergy .

While not Affiliated with a particular Religious Denomination , Regent College is an Evangelical Protestant Institution in its general outlook. It does offer denomination-specific programmes for Baptist and Anglican students. About 700 students are enrolled in full- or part-time studies. Approximately 40% of students are Canadian , another 40% are American , and the remaining 20% come from across the globe.

Regent College offers four programs: a Diploma in Christian Studies (DipCS), Master of Christian Studies (MCS), Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Theology (ThM). Concentrations available within these programs include Applied Theology/ Pastoral Ministry ; Marriage , Family & Community ; Missions & Evangelism ; Marketplace Theology; Old Testament ; New Testament ; Biblical Studies ; Church History ; Interdisciplinary Studies; Christianity & Culture ; Christianity & the Arts ; Biblical Languages; Spiritual Theology; Theology.

Dr. Rod J.K. Wilson is currently president. Marva Dawn is a Teaching Fellow of Spiritual Theology. Past faculty members include Gordon Fee , Michael Green , J. I. Packer , Eugene Peterson , and Clark Pinnock .
