The College also operates three program centers: Kolot, for Gender and Women's Studies ; the Center for Jewish Ethics, for Jewish Ethics studies; and Hiddur, for studies on Aging and Judaism . The college was founded in 1968 by the founder of the Reconstructionist movement, Mordecai Kaplan , and was based in two brownstone buildings at 2308 North Broad Street in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . In September 1982 , the college moved to its current location at the former Curtis Mansion on Greenwood Avenue in Wyncote . The college's main building is 27,500 square feet and is red-brick, slate-roofed, and an example of Georgian Architecture . It includes classrooms, a lounge, faculty and administrative offices, the Goldyne Savad Library Center, the Mordecai M. Kaplan Archives; a Chapel ; a media center, and conference rooms.
