Rachel majored in English and studied Chinese in Columbia Univserity. Went to Beijing in 1994 and later starred in a well known chinese soap opera name: "Foreign Babes in Beijing", where she played Jiexi. She was one of the few foreign actresses in mainland China and is considered a sex symbol. She returned to the United States in 1999 where she began graduate work in poetry at Boston University. Author of "Foreign Babes in Beijing", a recent novel which bares the same name as the soap opera where she detailed her experience in China as well as the soap opera. The rights of her book has been purchased by Paramount Pictures and where production is underway. Also been in the movie "Saving Face", a story about Chinese lesbians in american society. |
