She was the first female editor of a national newspaper and the only editor of two national newspapers simultaneously. She was an inhabitant of Royal Tunbridge Wells . She was already the editor of the ''Observer'' (owned by her husband) when she acquired the ''Sunday Times'' in 1893, and edited it herself without relinquishing her role at the ''Observer''. Her entry in the '' Oxford Dictionary Of National Biography '' describes her as "not considered a brilliant editor". {Link without Title} |
