''Rabbit Redux'' is a 1971 novel by John Updike . It is the second book in his "Rabbit" series, which begins with '' Rabbit, Run ''. In the book, Harry "Rabbit" Angstrom is older, but not much wiser. His wife Janice leaves to live with his only friend, and Harry takes in a runaway Hippie and a black fundamentalist in his home. The crazy 1960s are even crazier in Rabbit's world of existential confusion. MERGED ARTICLE ''Rabbit Redux'' is the 1971 publication of John Updike. Second in the four part series about Harry Angstrom, Updike wrote this installation when he was 36. The Rabbit series concerns a former basketball star who grew up in Pennsylvania. The plot of ''Rabbit Redux'' revolves around the separation of Harry and his wife Janice. Janice has an affair, and Harry procedes to take in an eighteen year-old run away, Jill and her fugitive acquaintance, Skeeter. |
