Information About

Quincy Mack

Quincy Mack (born in Brantford , Ontario in 1976 ), or "Q-Mack", is a motivational speaker to students, and is Canada 's only professional Basketball trickster. He grew up in Brantford, Ontario , also the hometown of hockey superstar Wayne Gretzky . At a young age, he received a Basketball with the colours of his favourite NBA team, the Chicago Bulls ( Red and Black ) as a present from his father. He was a fan of Basketball , in a town where most children wanted to grow up to be like Wayne Gretzky . He was bullied occaisionally, he explains, which made his confidence level drop. He didn't have a real size Basketball , didn't know the colour of a real Basketball , and didn't have any Basketball shoes, which sometimes led to his being bullied. He learned some of his first Basketball tricks from his older neighbour. This is when his talent started to grow.

Q-Mack has presented to over 750,000 students. He has also worked with the NBA since 1998 as the host of all its events held across Canada . He attended the Radio Broadcasting program at Humber College , which has probably helped him to become comfortable with speaking to audiences of up to 15,000 people at a time. He has visited over 800 schools with an anti- Bullying performance/basketball tricks show.

In 2003 , Q-Mack had his first book, ''Dare to be Different'', published. He also had a Basketball trickster DVD released called ''Freestyle Frenzy''. Q-Mack is the creator of several tricks, including the ''Skyscraper'', a trick in which he spins a Basketball on top of a stick extended up to the ceiling, while balancing the stick on his chin. He has appeared on Toronto 's CityTv , on MuchMusic , and on Rogers SportsNet , and is set to appear on YTV . He is also involved in music.

Q-Mack has been very successful in passing on his message against Bullying to students, and will likely continue to do so in the future. He currently resides in Toronto , Ontario .
