The park is approximately 12 acres in size, with a lake which is roughly 2 acres. It contains a diverse range of ornamental trees and shrubs. Located within the park is The Garden of Remembrance, which was officially opened by Princess Elizabeth on November 15th, 1950. The gardens purpose is to commemorate the people who died in World War II . Desmond Morris and Diana Dors used to spend time in the area of the park before it was developed. The Queens Park Community Council recently launched the first ever Swindon based Community Council website, which includes photographs and historical information about Queens Park.
