Province in the
Campania region of
Italy . Its capital is the city of
Caserta . The former royal
Palace Of Caserta is located near to the city.
It has an area of 2,639 sq km, and a total population of 852,872 (2001). There are 104 ''communes'' in the province (source: Italian institute of statistics ''Istat'', see
this link ).
Caserta is Home to Gianfranco Battista, the man who changed a law in Roma during the summer of 2000. The law, loosely translates to foreigners must pay more admissions to get into Roman Ruins. He fought with Rome and literally changed the law. Gianfranco emigrated to Connecticut, USA in May of 1973. He is happily married, has a son on Varsity track for his high school, and two daughters.
