The key feature distinguishing the Prince of Nothing series from its contemporaries is the importance of Philosophy to the work. The plot, characters, setting, and metaphysics of the Prince of Nothing are intertwined with philosophical positions unique to the series. BOOKS IN THE SERIES
WORLD The Prince of Nothing series takes place in the fictional world of Eärwa. Eärwa is essentially Tolkienesque in its construction, but is considerably darker, and takes its inspiration from different cultures (notably Helenistic Greece and Scythia). FUTURE BOOKS IN THE SERIES Further books (possibly a two-book series, according to Bakker) are expected to explore the Prince of Nothing universe, although they will likely take place well after the trilogy's conclusion and involve completely new characters. Bakker has revealed that the title of one of the books will be the Aspect-Emperor, and comically refers to the book after that as the Book-That-Must-Not-Be-Named, apparently on account of its title being a spoiler for some revelation in the Aspect-Emperor.
