Poole Bay is often erroneously described as 'Bournemouth Bay', as part of it lies within the borough of Bournemouth . However, there is in fact no such place as 'Bournemouth Bay'. Many of the beaches along Poole Bay are being replenished during winter 2005 with 1.1 million m3 of sand dredged from Poole Harbour.
