Ponygon is a fictional character in the anime and manga series '' Zatch Bell! '' (''Konjiki no Gash Bell!''). Ponygon is a Mamodo who resembles a small horse or donkey. Ponygon is seen many times throughout the series following Zatch Bell around, but he was not officially introduced until the episode, "Go for it, Ponygon". Ponygon makes fast friends with Zatch Bell and Tia , but not with Kiyo Takamine . Ponygon bites Kiyo's hand when Kiyo and Ponygon first meet. The frayed relationship is further strained when Kiyo sees that Ponygon is having difficulty trying to untie his spellbook from a rope net, and decides to help him by cutting the ropes. Ponygon becomes angry because his mother had made the rope herself, and now Kiyo had ruined it. Since Ponygon can't speak anything except horse noises, Kiyo had no idea what he was saying or what he was so upset for. Ponygon subsequently beats Kiyo up. Kiyo later bans Ponygon from his house, then went to look for him after his classmates forced him to. After talking with Tia, Kiyo came to realize that Ponygon, being on Earth without a book owner, must feel extremely lonely, and the reason he bonded so well with Zatch and the others was because he thought of them as companions and fellow Mamodo s, and he gets along with Kiyo's classmates because he hoped that maybe one of them would end up being his book owner. Kiyo also comes to see that Ponygon only felt hostile towards him because he already had a mamodo, so he found no reason to try and get along with him. When Kiyo finally finds Ponygon, he tells Ponygon that he could stay with him and Zatch until he finds his book owner. Since Ponygon cannot not speak in a language the others could understand, Kiyo couldn't figure out Ponygon's real name, which is Schneider. Kiyo decided to call him Ponygon because he's a pony, and when he first met him, he wanted him gone. In the Japanese version, he is called Umagon; uma being horse and gon as in dragon. When Ponygon hears the new name, Ponygon went ballistic and beat Kiyo up again, although in later episodes, he seemed to be more used to the name. Ponygon's reader is later revealed to be Kafka Sunbeam. Although he seems to understand Ponygon in his own strange way, he too calls the horse by the name Kiyo had given to him. Ponygon then subsequently tries to use body language to prove his name is "Schneider", but, yet again, no one understands the horse Mamodo. His spells gives him armor. his first spell Shudoruku gives him super speed and a silver armor also made him bigger. While he use this spell to trying to defeat his first opponent who was defeating Laila and Zatch both though didn't have their spellbook though first Ponygon was winning against his opponent use a powerup spell and almost broke Ponygon's armor their for canceling his spell use until it say again. He then has flashbacks being a burden not able to help in fights.Their for being in his first fight he don't want to lost. Then his second spell appear Gou Shudoruku and was use. This give Ponygon bigger red and gold armor, a horn,and further larger his size.With it he defeat the enemy and then Kafka use a lighter to burn the book. That Finish their first battle.They have many battles after some along with Zatch. One of their other tough battle was against Karodiea who was another horse mamodo with his parther Sauzā. They both start their battle with their first spell who almost the thing. Then when Karodiea was in his ice form.Diogikoru Gidoruku Ponygon was almost losing then when Karodiea froze his parther Kafka that release ponygon 3rd spell the Dioemuru Shudoruku which make him bigger with another gold and red armor with a horn.Not only that but it his armor able to use fire for shield and attacking. With it he melt Kafka frozen jail cell then block Karudiea attack after a huge fire attack at Karodiea in the end they become friends.
