The Pontiac Elite was an undefeated Hockey team that played intramural ball hockey at Heritage College , in Gatineau , Québec . =Team History= 2004 The Pontiac Elite was formed during the first season of intramural ball hockey in the fall semester of 2004, at Heritage College. The team originally consisted of players origniating from the Pontiac Region in Western Quebec. During the first season, the Elite cruised to an undefeated season, winning every game including playoffs, winning the title and traditional Pizza lunch. Team Members:
2005 In the fall semester of 2005, the Elite roster was cut in half. Younge, McCord, Laframboise and Mulligan were no longer eligible to participate. Replacing the 4 Pontiacers would be Matt Sicard, Jess Gilles, Alex Docherty and part time players Pat Marcotte and Steve Routliffe. Once again, the Elite could not be stopped. The team battled to another undefeated season and playoff, winning the Championship once again, not to mention the pizza lunch. Although their record was somewhat tarnished because of a forfeit loss. The schedule was not made and only two players showed up for the first game. 2006 The 2006 winter semester brought newcomer Julien Gagnon and reunited former Elite, Chris Mulligan. The league now had 8 teams in total and was a round robin format. With the undefeated streak and title on the line, the Elite now had to play harder than ever. The first game didn't start well. Trailing 3-0, the Elite managed to comeback with 3 straight goals of their own, leading to a 5-4 win. Dominating most of their remaining games, the Elite went on to win the tournament with 45 goals for and only 14 goals against. Once again being crowned Champions of Heritage hockey while remaining undefeated for 3 consecutive years. = End of a Dynasty = On April 25th, 2006 the Pontiac Elite team name was retired. Pontiac Elite dominated the first three years of Heritage hockey with an undefeated streak and will never be forgotten. They will always be known as the greatest intramural ball hockey team that ever graced the Heritage College gymnasium with their highly esteemed presence. |
