Serbia And Montenegro consists of two republics, Serbia and Montenegro .


SERBIA


Serbia has two autonomous provinces:

The part of Serbia that is in neither (often called “ Central Serbia ”) is not a province and has no special status. It has no capital nor a governing body.

Independently of this division, Serbia is further divided into 29 District s ('' Okrug '') and the city of Belgrade .
Each of districts (and the city) is further divided into Municipalities ('' Opština '').

MONTENEGRO



UNMIK DISTRICTS IN KOSOVO


Under UNMIK administration (established in 1999), new districts in Kosovo were formed. The districts are:


PROPOSALS FOR NEW DIVISIONS


Some political parties in Serbia (notably the Democratic Party Of Serbia and the Šumadija Coalition ) propose the creation of new administrative units in Serbia. According to these proposals, it would be divided into 6 regions:
