Pittsburgh Technical Institute (PTI) is a private, career-focused, postsecondary institution with three locations in western Pennsylvania: the North Fayette Campus in Oakdale, the Downtown Campus in center-city Pittsburgh, and the Cranberry Center at the Regional Learning Alliance in Cranberry Woods. PTI offers two-year associate in science degrees and short-term certificate programs to nearly 2,000 full-time students. The institution first opened its doors in 1946 as a single-discipline career training school. Since then, it has expanded course offerings to include business, design, medical, computer, and technical fields. PTI now offers these associate degrees: Accounting Administration, Business Administration, CAD-Architectural, CAD-Mechanical, Computer Programming, Electronics Engineering Technology, Graphic Design, Hospitality-Hotel Management, Hospitality-Restaurant Management, IT-Network Administration, IT-Network Security and Computer Forensics, Marketing, Medical Assisting, Medical Office, Multimedia Technologies, Safety and Security Administration, Surgical Technology, and Travel and Tourism Administration. Through PTI's Center for Certification and Adult Learning (CCAL), nontraditional students prepare for the workforce and take advantage of shorter, more flexible evening schedules. Adult students can elect on-site certificates in Computerized Accounting, Electronics Technology, Medical Coding, Network Security and Computer Forensics, and Therapeutic Massage Practitioner. Or CCAL students can pursue an associate degree in on-line/on-site format. CCAL also offers a menu of Microsoft and IT certification preparation offerings such as A+ Service Technician, Microsoft Certificated Database Administrator (MCDBA), Microsoft Network Professional (MCSE 2003), Red Hat Certified Technician, and others. PTI, while being a very good school loses the fact on most of the teachers at PTI's North Fayette Campus are morons. They have no technical skills and the students who go to this school come in with more talent then they leave with. The biggest pimp there is Keith Marleno. EXTERNAL LINKS |
