Pinson Mounds is a National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register Of Historic Places . A Novel by R. S. Pierpoint called After The Mardi Gras tells the tale of a Portuguese Sailor who wanders to the Indian Mounds at Pinson hundreds of years ago, marries the Chiefs grand-daughter and creates a line of Melungeons. |
