Philip Baxter College




Along with Basser and Goldstein Colleges , Philip Baxter College formed part of The Kensington Colleges, a self-managing entity which now falls under the jurisdiction of the UNSW Housing Office. It houses 232 residents, making it the largest residential college associated with the university. In 2006 it received 131 new residents or "freshers". The college was names after Dr. Philip Baxter, a champion Australian table tennis player. Of note is the fact that The Vines ' lead singer, David Nichols, stayed at Philip Baxter college for two years in the late 90's while he studied a Bachelor Of Architecture , which he received in 1999.
