GEOGRAPHY


Philip is located at 44°2'24" North, 101°39'58" West (44.039949, -101.666208).

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 1.5 Km&2 (0.6 Mi&2 ). 1.5 km&2 (0.6 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 885 people, 367 households, and 226 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 589.1/km&2 (1,527.7/mi&2). There were 424 housing units at an average density of 282.3/km&2 (731.9/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.59% White , 0.00% African American , 3.16% Native American , 0.23% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 1.02% from two or more races. 1.36% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 367 households out of which 29.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.0% were Married Couples living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.4% were non-families. 34.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.28 and the average family size was 2.99.

In the city the population was spread out with 23.1% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 20.0% from 45 to 64, and 23.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 85.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.6 males.
