Pauline Scanlon (born in Dingle , Co. Kerry , Ireland ) is a singer of contemporary and Traditional Irish Music .

Dingle is a Gaeltacht , which is an area where the population's first language is Irish . Scanlon has been singing professionally since she was 15 years old. She has toured the pub and club scene on the Dingle peninsula with her friend and mentor Tony Small.

Scanlon has toured extensively worldwide with Sharon Shannon .

Her first solo CD,called "Red Colour Sun" was released on Compass Records in 2004. It blended tradtional sounds with modern influences. In January of 2006, she completed a new project with Donough Hennessy (formerly the guitar player for the Irish band Lunasa) along with Darrell Scott, Kenny Malone, Stuart Duncan and other musicians, which will be released the third week of June in 2006, also on Compass Records.

Many fans, critics and musicians believe that this young woman has a great future in modern Celtic music.
