Pasa Of Silla




Pasa Isageum ( 80 - 112 , d. 112) was the fifth ruler of the ancient Korean kingdom of Silla . He was either King Yuri 's son or his nephew, and thereby a descendant of Silla's first ruler Bak Hyeokgeose .

According to the '' Samguk Sagi '', the Wolseong royal fortress was first constructed in the twenty-second year of his reign. Portions of this fortress are still preserved in central Gyeongju .

In the twenty-third year of Pasa's reign, Silla gained control over the previously independent states of Siljikgok (present-day Samcheok ), Eumjipbeol (present-day northern Gyeongju), and Apdok (present-day Gyeongsan ). Six years later he took over the states of Biji (present-day Hapcheon ), Dabeol (present-day Pohang ), and Chopal (present-day Changwon ) as well.
