HISTORY

Palmer Trinity School was formed in 1991 when Palmer School (founded in 1973 ) and Trinity Episcopal School (founded in 1981 ) merged. The school currently enrolls 600 students in grades 6-12. Palmer Trinity is the only Episcopal Middle and Upper School in Miami-Dade County . PTS TODAY

The Palmer Trinity student body hails from nearly forty foreign nations – from Canada, to Central and South America, to Europe and Asia.

In 1997, the school introduced its Wireless Laptop Computer Program, which allows students access to internet resources from anywhere on campus (depending on LAN coverage). A few courses use CD Roms and the internet for textbooks.

The school reports that 100% (as stated in the "Falconer" the monthly school newspaper) of its graduates attend four year institutions with 80% leaving the State. Boston, New York and Washington, DC are the most common destinations for Palmer Trinity students. However, Northern California and Texas have become very popular in recent years.

Palmer Trinity is the one of several schools in America to have a study abroad program for sophomores. Sophmores can study in Sydney, Australia for the Spring Term. The Aussies spend the Fall Term at PT.

Admission to Palmer Trinity is somewhat competitive. Typically, only 35% of the applicants are accepted.
