Clients submit their text electronically, specifying, where appropriate, the journal to which it will be submitted, whether advanced formatting is required, and whether British Or American Spelling should be used. The text is first edited by an expert who has a PhD in the field, or who is an editor or reviewer of relevant international journals. A second edit is then provided by a language specialist. The text is then given a final check and returned to the client in both clean and change-tracked versions. Turnaround times are related to the size of a document, and range from two days for fewer than 400 words, to seven days for 10,000–12,000 words; shorter turnarounds and arrangements for longer documents are by negotiation. After the document is returned, clients are able to resubmit any further changes they make to their text for editing and comment as part of the service, until they are satisfied with the result.
