Oklahoma City Zoological Park And Botanical Garden

The zoo is an accredited member of the American Zoo And Aquarium Association and the American Association Of Museums . Major exhibits include:

Cat Forest/Lion Overlook (4.2 acres) - nine species of wild cats including Lion s, Tiger s, and Snow Leopard s, with more than 4,000 plants replicating native environments.

Great EscAPE (3.5 acres) - 18 animals including two troops of Gorilla s, one family of Orangutan s, and a community of Chimpanzee s, in tropical Rainforest plantings.

Aquatics - more than 1,500 aquatic creatures, including California Sea Lion s, green Sea Turtle s, and Coral .

Butterfly Garden (20,000 square feet) - a range of butterflies including Monarch Butterfly , Painted Lady , Giant Swallowtail , and the Eastern Black Swallowtail , within an environment of more than 15,000 plants.

Island Life - representative species from around the world including Galapagos Tortoise s ('' Geochelone nigra''), Caribbean Flamingo s ('' Phoenicopterus ruber''), Abaco Island Boa Constrictor ('' Epicrates exsul''), San Esteban Island Chuckwalla Lizard ('' Sauromalus varius''), as well as a Herpetarium with over 80 exhibits.

Other amusements within the zoo include a Climbing Wall , safari tram, Carousel , two small trains, and swan Paddleboat s.
