TYPICAL COMPONENTS Most office application suites include at least a Word Processor and a Spreadsheet element. In addition to these, the suite may contain a Presentation Program , a basic Database , Graphics and Communications tools. Newer variations on the office applications suite include an Email Client , a Personal Information Manager (or Groupware package) and/or a Graphics Suite . CURRENT SUITES See Also: List of office suites The currently dominant office suite is Microsoft Office , which is available for Microsoft Windows and the Apple Macintosh . It is a Propietary De-facto standard in productivity software, and is widely perceived to have more features then other office suites. An alternative are the OpenDocument suites, that uses the Free document format. Another prominent office suite is OpenOffice.org , an Open Source alternative that is available for Windows, Linux , and Macintosh. OpenOffice.org supports OpenDocument and many of the features of Microsoft Office, as well as most of its file formats, and has spawned several derivatives such as NeoOffice , a port for Mac OS X that integrates into its Aqua interface, and StarOffice , a commercial version by Sun Microsystems .
