Ocean Acres is a Census-designated Place and Unincorporated area split between Barnegat Township and Stafford Township , located in Ocean County , New Jersey . As of the United States 2000 Census , the CDP had a total population of 13,155. GEOGRAPHY Ocean Acres is located at 39°44'23" North, 74°17'3" West (39.739800, -74.284106). According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 15.4 Km&2 (5.9 Mi&2 ). 15.2 km&2 (5.8 mi&2) of it is land and 0.2 km&2 (0.1 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 1.52% water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 13,155 people, 4,683 households, and 3,807 families residing in the CDP. The Population Density was 868.2/km&2 (2,248.0/mi&2). There were 4,959 housing units at an average density of 327.3/km&2 (847.4/mi&2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.34% White , 1.00% African American , 0.13% Native American , 0.93% Asian , 0.02% Pacific Islander , 0.54% from Other Races , and 1.04% from two or more races. 2.77% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 4,683 households out of which 38.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.4% were Married Couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.7% were non-families. 15.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.12. In the CDP the population was spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 20.0% from 45 to 64, and 16.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 96.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.8 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $53,169, and the median income for a family was $58,404. Males had a median income of $42,368 versus $31,208 for females. The Per Capita Income for the CDP was $21,249. 3.5% of the population and 2.4% of families were below the Poverty Line . 4.3% of those under the age of 18 and 4.1% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
