OTMH’s busy 24-hour emergency department experiences more than 43,800 visits annually, while over 114,000 patients visit its outpatient areas each year. There are 2,300 births a year. To meet growing demand for services, Halton Healthcare Services plans to expand the Surgical Program and the Intensive Care Unit and increase the hospital’s acute care bed capacity in the next year. Pending approval from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, HHS will also be redeveloping the Maternal Child Program, relocating and expanding the Adult Mental Health Program at OTMH and establishing a satellite dialysis unit in Burlington. |
