Nova Scotia Power is a power generating and delivery company in Nova Scotia . It generates electricity from 44 power plants using Hydroelectric , natural gas, Coal , thermal, oil, combustion turbine, Tidal and Wind sources. It is now owned by Emera , a power company based in Halifax that serves parts of the Maritimes and New England. The company notably operates the only Tidal Power plant in North America , located in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia . It was built in 1984 and is the second largest tidal plant in the world.
