Norwegian Air Shuttle is a Norwegian Airline , with headquarters at Fornebu outside the country's capital Oslo and its main base at Gardermoen (Oslo Airport) . Norwegian Air Shuttle is also referred to as ''Norwegian'', which is the company's commercial Brand . CODE DATA HISTORY From its founding in 1993 following the Busy Bee bankruptcy, until March 31 , 2003 it operated parts of Braathens ' network on the west coast of Norway, with Fokker F50 s. These routes were previously operated by Busy Bee, and Norwegian Air Shuttle acquired three of Busy Bee's Aircraft for these operations. In 2002 the airline started its first own operations. A short-lived route from Stavanger to Newcastle , and government-supported operations from Bodø and Tromsø to Andøya , which they operated until January 1 , 2003 . On September 1 , 2002 it started operating domestic low-cost jet flights under a new design and name, Norwegian, in competition with Scandinavian Airlines System . During 2006 the fleet will be a total of 18 Boeing 737-300 seating 148 passengers. Their market share varies on the different routes, but the Oslo-Trondheim and Oslo - Bergen routes had the highest market share in 2005 by 37%. In 2005 Norwegian Air Shuttle made a profit for the first time since Boeing 737 operations started in 2002.
