North Carolina Congressional Districts




North Carolina currently has 13 Congressional District s. The state gained an additional district in 2002 as a result of regular Reapportionment following the 2000 Census .


FIRST DISTRICT


The 1st District seat was held by Democrat Frank Ballance during the 108th Congress until his resignation on 8 June 2004 .

Democrat G.K. Butterfield succeeded Ballance in a special election held on 20 July 2004 . Butterfield was re-elected to the seat in November 2004.




SECOND DISTRICT


The 2nd District seat is currently held by Bob Etheridge , a Democrat .




THIRD DISTRICT


The 3rd District seat is currently held by Walter B. Jones , a Republican .




FOURTH DISTRICT


The 4th District seat is currently held by David Price , a Democrat .




FIFTH DISTRICT


The 5th District seat was held by Richard Burr , a Republican , during the 108th Congress.

The seat is currently held by Republican Virginia Foxx , elected in November 2004.




SIXTH DISTRICT


The 6th District seat is currently held by Howard Coble , a Republican .
