North-South Expressway Northern Route(NSE), '''E1''' is the northern part of Malaysia 's longest expressway, the North-South Expressway . It is situated on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia , linking the northern states of Kedah , Penang , Perak , Selangor and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur . It begins at the Malaysian-Thai Border and ends at the Jalan Duta exit in Kuala Lumpur . The expressway also includes the Penang Bridge , Malaysia's longest bridge.
