Information About

Non-chronological Report

A Non-chronological Report is a special type of way presenting information, mostly suitable for living things. It is mostly in Present Tense depending whether or not the object is no in existence or not. It has four categories, each with its own content.
There are these categories as followed:

  • Classification (What it is)

  • Description (Appearance)

  • Dynamics (What it does)

  • Time and Place (Where and when is it)

The ''Classification'' has its contents about what it is. Here is an example of Komodo Dragons.

Topic: Komodo Dragons

''
Classification'':

The Komodo Dragon is the largest lizard in the world. Belonging to the monitor lizard family, Varadinae, it includes over 50 lizards.

Now, this classification, it would NOT include facts that you would usually write if you were not writing a Non-chronological report.
For example:

You would not put:

  • It lives in the islands of Indonesia such as Padar, Flores and Komodo.

  • ( This fact belongs to ''Time and Place'' , since it shows ''where'' the creature lives.)

  • It can be over 10 feet long, although most lizards are of an average only 5 feet.

  • (This fact belongs to ''Description'', since it is about its ''Appearance''.)

  • It will eat almost anything it catches, including Water Buffaloes, Wild Pigs and the Sunda Reindeer.

  • (This fact belongs to ''Dynamics'', since it shows what the Komodo Dragon ''does''.)

Moving on to the ''Description'', it presents what its appearance is, for example:

Topic: Komodo Dragons

The Description:

Komodos can be over 10 feet long although the average is only up to 5 feet long. It has strong and beady eyes and has a long tail.
Females can weight up to 150 pounds while males up to 256 pounds.
