Niyati is one of the Shuddhashuddha Tattvas in Trika metaphysics. A synonym for Karma , it is part of the soul's five-fold restriction (''pancha kanchuka''), along with ''kala'' (time), ''kala'' (creativity), ''vidya'' (knowing) and ''raga'' (attachment, desire). These encase the Soul (or Purusha ), resulting in self-limitation and Rebirth . |
