The stop will be located at the western terminus of the AirTrain line. The station will allow people to have different connections from the monorail and get to areas in Elizabeth and Newark that are not served by other mass transportation or to have alternative means of transportation to places in the New York Metropolitan area. The station marks the southern end of segment two of the NERL, which will eventually connect to Newark Penn Station . It also marks the northern end of the third segment (the Union County Light Rail), which will terminate to the south at Midtown Station in Elizabeth . A possible extension of this segment may extend as far west as Plainfield . |
