The first minimum operable segment (MOS-1), which is currently under construction and expected to open in the summer of 2006, will connect Broad Street Station and Penn Station in Newark. MOS-2 will connect Penn Station with a station near Lincoln Park, also in Newark. MOS-3, which is often referred to as the Union County Light Rail will join the two previous sections with Newark Airport and Elizabeth. MOS-1 of the light rail line was estimated to cost $207.7 million and is expected to serve an average of 13,000 weekday riders by 2015. The entire project is estimated to cost $694 million (1995 dollars) and will carry an average of 24,900 weekday riders by 2015. TENTATIVE STATION LISTING MOS-1
