The Scorpions play in Tingley Coliseum at Expo New Mexico, the state fairgrounds in Albuquerque . In 2006, the team plans to move to A New Arena in Rio Rancho , a neighboring city. New Mexico captured the regular-season title in 1996, but has undergone a streak of futility in league playoffs. The Scorps are 3-of-7 in playoff series and 18-of-30 in playoff games. They reached the league final in 2000, but lost to the Shreveport Mudbugs (now Bossier-Shreveport) in six games. The Scorpions' Mascot is named Stanley. The owners include former NHLer Dave Ellet and current NHL Brian Savage. The coach is Ray Edwards. The team's archrival is the Colorado Eagles . EXTERNAL LINKS |
