New Hampshire Route 113 (NH-113) is an east–west highway in east-central New Hampshire . The highway winds across the state from near the Maine border to the Lakes Region . The eastern terminus of NH-113 is at US 302 in the town of Conway . It once continued along US 302 to end at the Maine state line, but was cut back to its junction with US 302 fairly recently. This was probably done to reduce confusion since ME-113 in the town of Fryeburg is about a mile from the state line along US 302. This isn't the only confusing thing about the two Routes 113 in the area, since ME-113 enters New Hampshire twice, including once in Conway. The western terminus of Route 113 is at the junction with US-3 / NH-25 in the town of Holderness , west of Squam Lake in the Lakes Region. Total length of NH-113 in New Hampshire is approximately 45.1 miles (72.7 km). This excludes the two sections of ME-113 that cross and recross the border north of Fryeburg. ROUTE 113A New Hampshire Route 113A is a loop road in Carroll County , New Hampshire . The highway splits off from NH-113 in Tamworth , loops around to the north and east, then rejoins NH-113 again in the town of Sandwich . The road provides access to the Hemenway State Recreation Area in the White Mountains area of New Hampshire. The eastern terminus of NH-113A is in Tamworth at the junction with NH-113. In this area the highway is locally named Chinook Trail. The western terminus is at the junction with NH-113 in Sandwich. At this point the road is locally named Whiteface Road. Total length of NH-113A is approximately 13.2 miles (21.2 km). ROUTE 113B New Hampshire Route 113B is a very unusual loop road. It never intersects NH-113 or even gets very near it. Instead, it is a loop off of ME-113 , producing the very unusual situation of one state having a suffixed route off of another state's highway. NH-113B starts at ME-113 in Stow , ME, runs west into New Hampshire, turns north to end at ME-113 right about at one of the locations where ME-113 enters New Hampshire. Total length of NH-113B is approximately 3.9 miles (6.5 km), with about a mile (1.6 km) in the state of Maine. SEE ALSO |
