There is no single highway numbered New Hampshire Route 1. There are two highways containing the number 1: '''Route 1A''', '''Route 1B'''. These highways all have a junction with U.S. Route 1 , from which they derive their state route number. There is also a U.S. Route 1 Bypass .


ROUTE 1A

New Hampshire Route 1A (Route 1A) runs along New Hampshire 's Atlantic Coastline from the Massachusetts border north to Rye , then turns toward downtown Portsmouth . Total length is approximately 19 miles (30.6 km). The southern terminus is at the Massachusetts state line in Seabrook at the junction with MA-1A . The northern terminus is at the junction with US-1 in Portsmouth. For the length of the road’s run along the shore, its local name is Ocean Boulevard.

ROUTE 1B

New Hampshire Route 1B (Route 1B) is a state highway in Portsmouth . The southern terminus is at the junction with Route 1A . The road loops around over Great Island in the Piscataqua River through New Castle and then back into Portsmouth. The northern terminus is at the junction with US-1 near the Maine state line. Total length is approximately 4.7 miles (7.6 km).
