ROUTE 1A New Hampshire Route 1A (Route 1A) runs along New Hampshire 's Atlantic Coastline from the Massachusetts border north to Rye , then turns toward downtown Portsmouth . Total length is approximately 19 miles (30.6 km). The southern terminus is at the Massachusetts state line in Seabrook at the junction with MA-1A .
